Committee Meeting 12/11/2017
Outside hut redevelopment
It was suggested at the 2016 agm by George Workman that we should look at flagging the area outside the hut. Many of you may agree that it can get a little grubby and the committee have all agreed that we should push on with the investment of new flags and materials. We intend to lay the flags on the games weekend which should be on the 10/02/2018, as always with projects the club takes on we need as many members to come forward to help. Too few volunteers and we will have no choice in cancelling the job.
New hard wired LED lighting and PIR's will be purchased and installed along the walkway over the next couple of months.
Kitchen Boiler replacement
As many already know the kitchen water boiler has been temperamental for some time now. It has been agreed by the committee to replace with a new boiler. The new boiler is fully electronic and does not use a pilot light saving on gas. The new boiler will be installed sometime over the next couple of months.
As you may have noticed the shower floor has started to become uneven due to water getting through and expanding the materials underneath. The committee agree that this problem needs fixing and over the next few months we will be working to correct this. Once we know what the problem is we will let everyone know when it will be out of action and how long for we also hope that volunteers will come forward to help getting this project complete.
The clubs new Bosun -Tim Loveday has performed a thorough inspection of the club boat. The committee feel this is a vital piece of equipment and should be made reliable as can be. Work will start imminently on replacing wiring, new engine mountings, double battery with solar charging. Automatic bilge, new tow lines , jockey wheel the list goes on. To be honest when Tim came up with the list we all felt like the boat had become triggers brush! Once completed we are going to see if we can obtain a free mooring, as you all know boats work best when their being used. It has been decided once you have had some quick training with Tim, members will be free to take the boat out for a for a quick jolly should you wish- as long as you replace the fuel you use!
Tender Outboard Storage
The club have been provisional go ahead to make good the electricity cupboard for use as a tender outboard storage area. Mike Deffee is going to look in to a new lockable door. Battening will be installed so tender engines can be fixed in place and locked! We will be after volunteers to assist with this project, if your interested in giving a helping hand please contact Mike.
Shower Block/ Kitchen
Not the most exciting news however to cut electricity costs the shower block and kitchen lighting are to be put on a PIR system and the lights will only come on when its dark and activated by movement. Also toilet dispensers are to be installed and the club will pay for and replenish the toilet rolls.
